Printing
Cambridge Gallery | Art and Framing
In all our locations and through our online store we offer Giclee Printing Services. This may present a question: what is Giclee Printing, is it different from what I can do at home.
Fine art printing is the practice of printing on museum-quality, archival mediums with archival pigment inks on high-resolution digital inkjet printers. This combination of high-quality materials, inks, and printers provides an unmatched range of color, depth, and detail. Fine art prints or fine art giclee (pronounced “jee-clay”) are industry-standard in the art world for art reproduction and photography due to their superior quality. Fine art printing, however, is not just reserved for artists and photographers. Fine art printing has become increasingly available to the everyday consumer to commemorate personal work, photos, and more. Highly-curated personal spaces are on the rise and they demand the quality and longevity that fine art prints have to offer.
CFA Gallery has expertly curated a selection of fine art and photographic papers to bring your dreams to life and make them last. We offer a range of substrates from smooth to subtly textured and matte-finish to high-gloss. Our fine art prints can be produced in any custom size ranging from 1×1” to 120×120″.
You may be wondering what the difference is between fine art paper and regular photo papers and the answer lies in the composition of the papers as well as the final product. These papers are made to endure with either a cotton or cellulose base and a neutral pH. This composition allows fine art papers to lock in inks and exhibit unsurpassed pigmentation and clarity.
Choosing the right fine art paper for your work is an art in and of itself and is very personal. The factors to consider when choosing a paper are equal parts creative and technical. As with many artistic decisions, paper choice can be completely subjective based on preference, but we are always happy to provide complimentary consultations.
The inks we use are UV protected and rated to last 99 years. The different materials that we print on as as follows:
